How does Simple Tuner work?

Simple Tuner uses your device’s microphone to listen to the pitch of your guitar strings and display how close they are to standard tuning.

Open the app, play a note, tune your string, then close the app when you’re done.

That’s it.

Does Simple Tuner record or store audio?

No.

Microphone audio is processed live and immediately discarded.

• No recording

• No storage

• No transmission

Nothing leaves your device.

Why does the tuner sometimes feel slightly unstable?

Guitars are not perfectly stable instruments, and phone microphones can pick up harmonics, room noise, and string attack transients.

For best results:

• Let the note ring for a moment after plucking

• Avoid excessive vibrato while tuning

• Tune in a relatively quiet environment

The tuner is designed to settle once the note stabilizes.

What is Auto mode?

Auto mode automatically detects the closest string you’re playing and tunes against it.

This is the default mode and works well for most situations.

What does locking a string do?

Locking a string constrains the tuner to that specific string.

This can help:

• Prevent jumping between nearby notes

• Provide more stable feedback

• Make fine adjustments easier

You can unlock at any time.

Does Simple Tuner work offline?

Yes.

Simple Tuner works entirely offline and does not require an internet connection.

Does Simple Tuner collect any data?

No.

• No accounts

Why is Simple Tuner a paid app?

Simple Tuner works with:

What happens if I delete the app?

Simple Tuner does not store any data.

Deleting the app removes everything immediately.

There is nothing to restore.
