Bagel is a private journaling app designed to help users reflect on their personal experiences. Your privacy is central to everything we do. This policy explains how Bagel handles your data.

1. No Account Required

Bagel does not require you to sign up, log in, or provide any personal information. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other identifying details.

2. Local Data Storage

All data you enter into the Bagel app is stored only on your device. We do not store, transmit, or back up your data to any server. Your information stays entirely offline.

If you back up your device using iCloud or a computer, your Bagel data may be included in that backup. You can manage backup settings in your iOS device preferences.

3. No Analytics or Tracking

Bagel does not collect analytics, usage data, or crash reports. We do not track your behavior in the app or across other apps or websites.

4. No Third-Party Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties. Since Bagel does not collect your data, there is nothing to sell, share, or disclose.

5. Face ID and Device Security

If you enable Face ID, Bagel uses Apple’s secure authentication to protect access to the app. This data is managed by your device and is never seen or stored by Bagel.

6. Your Control

You can delete your data at any time by removing the app from your device. All data will be erased when the app is deleted.

You can also export your data as a CSV file if you choose to back it up manually.

7. GDPR and Data Protection Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), users in the European Union have rights regarding their personal data. However, Bagel does not collect, store, or process any personal data on external servers. All data remains on your device and under your control.

If you choose to export your data, that export stays entirely local and is never transmitted to us.
